Hi! I'm Nicole and I am a licensed professional clinical counselor (LPCC #1498) in the state of Minnesota and a Master Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) Practitioner. Over my 15 years in the mental health field - working across crisis settings, schools, clinics, and community programs - I've learned that healing happens when people feel truly seen, safe, and supported. While my background includes working with diverse populations across the lifespan, my private practice is dedicated to helping teens (16+) and adults move past survival mode and reclaim their peace.
What truly drives me is helping people not just get through life's tough times, but also discover who they are and move toward who they want to be. I believe therapy is a collaborative experience. You are the expert on your own life and I am here to walk alongside you, not “fix” you. I see you as a whole person, already full of wisdom and inner strength.
I've lived in the Mankato area most of my life and am passionate about contributing to community wellness. When I'm not in the office, I like to spend quality time at home with my husband and our two dogs, enjoying our backyard space whenever the weather allows. I'm a huge fan of live music and love catching concerts and festivals. I also enjoy playing volleyball and pickleball, reading, and puzzling.
Our work together is focused on regulation, healing, and growth:
Safety & Connection: A safe, grounded space where you can share your story without being judged
Skill Building: Practical tools and strengths-based strategies for long-term growth
Healing: Insights to help you process trauma, navigate unhelpful patterns, and rebuild self-worth
Clear Goals: Aimed at reaching the life changes that matter most to you
Therapy is an active commitment you make to yourself and I believe growth happens in small, consistent steps. It’s normal to struggle - it’s part of being human. How we choose to face those challenges is what helps us grow stronger.
Therapy is an investment in your well-being, relationship with yourself, and future. Together, we work toward a life where you can:
Calm Your Nervous System: Shift from feeling constantly on high alert to feeling steady, grounded, and present in your day-to-day life
Respond with Compassion: Quiet harsh perfectionism and self-criticism, replacing them with genuine self-worth and healthy boundaries
Process Heavy Memories & Loss: Help your brain and body untangle painful memories and grief so they no longer dictate your present moments
Trust Your Own Strength: Move forward with clarity, knowing you have the tools and resilience to handle life’s unexpected challenges
I combine talk therapy with skill-building and evidence-based techniques:
ART (Accelerated Resolution Therapy): This specialized technique uses eye movements to help your brain process distressing memories and anxiety. You can experience rapid emotional relief and physical calm - without having to share every uncomfortable detail out loud.
CBT & DBT (Cognitive Behavioral & Dialectical Behavioral Therapy): These approaches help you see how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected, giving you the power to choose new, more effective ways to respond.
IFS (Internal Family Systems): At your core, you have a wise, calm, and strong center - we call this your Self. We connect with your Self to bring kindness and healing to the parts of you that feel hurt or stuck.
Body-Oriented Therapy & Trauma-Informed Care: Physical and emotional safety are prioritized as the foundation for change. We focus on the link between your mind and body to help you feel calmer and more grounded.
Harm Reduction: A non-judgmental approach that meets you where you are and helps you safely lower the harm linked to difficult behaviors.
Anchored & Aligned Counseling is an LGBTQIA+ affirming space where all identities, backgrounds, and orientations are respected and supported.
