You started this journey to make a meaningful difference, but that incredible passion can get lost in the shuffle of navigating post-degree hours. Working towards independent licensure is about more than just logging hours; it’s the season where you truly anchor your professional identity.
Most new clinicians feel like they’re navigating this chapter on an island but I’m here to help you leverage your training and experience to build a career that feels sustainable and supported. As a board-approved LPCC supervisor with 5+ years of experience supervision hundreds of clinical hours across diverse care systems, I provide supervision that centers on you as the clinician.
My supervision style is designed to address these early-career pressures head-on by offering a safe container where you can process in-room experiences, drop the perfectionism, and grow at your own pace:
The imposter parts: That nagging sense that you're just performing a role, worrying that a "real" therapist would know exactly what to do next. You're trying to have all the answers immediately.
Professional isolation: Feeling alone with complex cases and uncertain where to find a supervisor who truly understands the nuance of integrative, trauma-informed work.
Carrying the case home: You leave work physically buzzing, heavy, or numb, unable to shake off a client's trauma during your evening. Unaddressed, this can lead to compassion fatigue, poor boundaries, and somatic overload.
The "fix-it" trap: The overwhelming pressure to see immediate progress, which makes you over-function and can hinder clients' autonomy.
Administrative drain: Losing the connection to your clinical "why" under a mountain of paperwork and productivity quotas, leaving you depleted and in survival mode.
Supervision with me isn't about passive box-checking; it's an investment in your clinical longevity. Together, we work toward helping you:
Leave work at work: Develop somatic grounding and healthy boundaries so you can shut off your clinical brain at the end of the day without carrying clients' emotional weight home.
Trust your clinical voice: Move past the "fix-it" trap and imposter anxiety, leaning into your innate therapeutic presence and intuition.
Master trauma-informed interventions: Learn how to integrate somatic tools, Polyvagal theory, IFS parts work, and other concepts directly into your client care.
Navigate complex systems: Draw on my background in clinical operations and program leadership to handle administrative demands, productivity pressures, and ethical dilemmas without burning out.
While we certainly will dive into clinical strategy, my supervision style centers on you. We go beyond case notes to concentrate on the self-as-therapist; assisting you in processing your in-room experiences and generating reflections that lead to growth as a clinician. This means we will actively explore how the therapy process affects you as the therapist, grounding your work in self-awareness and regulation.
I approach supervision collaboratively in that I view the supervisee as having the inherent resources for effective development. I’m not just an "expert" checking boxes; I’m a mentor offering guidance while fostering a sense of mastery and self-determination.
I utilize an integrative model of supervision with a strong relational and systems theoretical orientation.
I can offer guidance and consultation in various models, including:
Trauma-Informed Therapy: Focusing on safety, collaboration, choice, and empowerment
Person-Centered Therapy, Humanistic, and Existential Therapies
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) & Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
Body-Oriented Therapies and frameworks like Polyvagal Theory
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
Harm Reduction
Navigating the Complex: When you’re stuck on a challenging client experience, we’ll consult deeply on the "why" behind the "what." I’ll help you troubleshoot interventions, look at the systemic pieces at play, and find a path forward when the way feels muddled.
The Clinical Safeguard: While I am your biggest cheerleader and collaborator, I also take my role as a clinical supervisor seriously. My primary responsibility is the safety and well-being of the clients you serve. I balance my support for your growth with a firm commitment to ethical care and client protection.
Choosing a supervisor isn't just about finding someone to sign off on your hours - you’re looking for a safe container where you can truly grow.
My supervisory approach isn't just theoretical. It’s been honed through 5 years of supervising hundreds of complex clinical hours across a variety of settings. Through that real-world experience, I’ve learned a fundamental truth: the best supervision protects the client by nurturing the therapist.
Everything we do in supervision today is built on that foundation - combining deep ethics and clinical safeguards with unwavering support for the human behind the clinician.
The first step is a simple conversation (video or in-person) to see if our clinical style and vibes align. We’ll discuss your goals, current setting, and what you need from a supervisor to truly thrive. We will also discuss your interests in terms of clients, ages, and diagnostic experiences.
Supervisees are responsible for knowing their specific board requirements
I am a board-approved clinical supervisor with the Minnesota Board of Behavioral Health & Therapy for providers pursuing LPC or LPCC licensure
Available for post-degree supervision. Note: I do not supervise master's-level student interns/trainees at this time.

Clinical growth happens in connection. I offer individual, dyad, and group supervision designed to be the right "container" for your unique needs. Together, we’ll find the best fit to support your clinical goals and build a sustainable professional identity.
One-on-one space centered around your specific caseload, therapeutic style, and goals. The most in-depth self-reflection and tailored clinical guidance to meet your specific needs and pace.
A shared space with two supervisees and one supervisor. Keeping the focus of individual work with the added benefit of focused peer learning and shared insight. It's often a comfortable, cost-effective way to build confidence by learning from a colleague's experience.
Typically 3-5 supervisees and one supervisor. A group setting provides an opportunity to build your professional network, normalize the common challenges, and hear diverse clinical perspectives.
Note: Dyad and Group formats are dependent on current enrollment and interest level.
One of the biggest hurdles to growth is showing up to supervision and feeling like you have "nothing to talk about," only to remember a complex issue the moment the meeting ends.
I’ve created a Supervision Prep Guide to help you organize your thoughts, track your Self-as-Therapist reflections, and ensure we focus on what matters most for your growth. This tool is meant to support better organization and a more meaningful supervision experience.
